- Is the system removable? How difficult is it to take down and put back up?
- The entire system is removable and can be taken down and put back up in about 30-45 minutes on an average sized pool (100 linear feet of fence). A panel can be taken down in just a few minutes, creating a 15 foot opening.
We recommend that you treat the system like a permanent fence and take portions down as needed and taking the entire system down when maintenance is required (1-2 times annually).
Life Saver systems are as close to a permanent fence as you will get, and consequently it will be supporting a tremendous amount of tension. Techniques are required to manage the system, which we will show you during our closing orientation.
top - How does the system compare to pool covers and nets?
- Fence systems are far better in terms of usability and safety as compared to covers or nets. Access to the pool can be achieved in just a few seconds with a fence system, whereas a net/cover requires complete removal to gain access to and/or secure the pool.
From a safety standpoint, a child cannot get tangled in a fence system, and there is a still a possibility that they are not in the pool if breached. Nets and covers, on the other hand, can be death-traps, and reactive safety solutions instead of proactive.
Asthetically, nets and covers are simply more attractive, lending an unobstructed view of the landscape.
top - What heights and colors are available?
- Life Saver systems are available in black, white, green, tan, brown, and silver (poles only). Poles, border, and mesh may be mixed and matched.
Available heights are 42", 48", and 60".

- Fence systems are priced by the linear foot. Pricing generally ranges from $14-$22 per foot in the Houston market. Prices may vary depending on system footage and layout. Items such as self latching gates, footers, extra special cuts, and latching hardware may increase the cost as well.

top - What other layers of protection are recommended for my pool?
- First off, nothing replaces supervision. Fence systems are considered primary, proactive layers of protection. Secondary layers consist of pool and door alarms, and portable alarms such as Safety Turtles.
Life Saver recommends as many layers as possible to ensure a fail safe environment.
top - Can my child get through this safety system?
- NO! Not if used properly. Remember, supervision is the #1 safety layer. Be sure to keep chairs and tables far enough away as to not give a child leverage to breach the system. There will not be a gap any greater than 4" in the system, and there is no point on the system for a child to climb or scale it.
